Class Dojo:
We use an interactive website to monitor behavior through the school year. Each
student’s name is added to the interactive website. Here they will be able to
earn or lose points through the day. A
few ways to earn points could include; behaving and making good choices, being
helpful or respectful and staying on task. In other circumstances the student
may lose points by making wrong choices, being disrespectful or disruptive
behavior. Through the week each student has the opportunity to earn/lose points
for certain behaviors. On Friday, the students will be able to convert their
accumulated points into money and can purchase rewards from the class store. If
you would like to donate anything to the class store please let us know.
Consequences: I deal with each situation as it is presented to me. Just as every student is unique, each consequence should be unique. I will treat every student fairly. I will administer consequences with empathy and understanding, rather than with lectures and anger. I am a huge fan of the book “Teaching with Love & Logic” and I base my discipline plan off of the foundation of this book: I use enforceable limits, I provide choices within limits, and I apply consequences with empathy. An example of a consequence may be losing recess time or not having special privileges, such as stations.
